Final ExamWhat are the implications for society when the corporation is the single most important ISA?
Basically, the increasing role of corporations produces a profound impact on society, Potentially, the dominance of corporations or one corporation can lead to significant changes in the development of the entire society. In this respect, it should be said that the domination of the corporation as the single most important ISA will lead to the formation of the specific corporate culture as the dominant culture of the society. To put it more precisely, the corporation will establish its own standards which the entire society will have to follow because the corporation is the major force in the society.
Consequently, being the dominant power, the corporation will be able to impose its ideology on the entire society. The latter, in its turn, will view the corporation as a sample of the social organization. In other words, the social structure will more likely to follow or simply mirror the structure of the corporation. At the same time, the corporation will be perceived as an ideal and the only possible social system that can function really effectively. In such a context, social interests and social institutions, such as public organizations turn to be secondary compared to the corporation, which is superior in relation to social institutions.

BrotherhoodThe war is the most terrible thing that can ever happen. The battle of field is the place where you stay with your fears and only other soldiers who stand shoulder to shoulder with you can help your overcome these fears and be brave. All the feelings are exaggerated in the war, you see your life in a new way. You feel that those who fight together with you are so close and so dear that nothing can weaken this bond. War friends are as thick as thieves because they have experienced what you have when you serried together before the fight. You have seen the war all together as it was in reality, you looked in the eyes of the death together. “What is not replaceable is the esteem of comrades, but to the replacement soldier, just arrived, there is no comradeship, so there is nothing to hold him to his post” (Ambrose, 117). If you came through the war together, nothing would separate your after this serious life test. Stephen Ambrose devoted his series of books, and “Band of Brothers” among them, to the theme of war friendship.

Among such artists it is possible to name Andy Warhole. In fact, this artist is considered to be one of the founders of the pop art whose works mirrored his unique view on art and its role.
First of all, it is necessary to say a few words about Andy Wahrol who is one of the most popular artists in the US. The media called him the ‘Prince of Pop’ and he was really successful since he made his way from Pittsburgh working class family to an American legend. Looking for Good EducationGrade system at schools and colleges has both, its advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, grades are a kind of stimulus for students. They encourage students to study better because competing with each other for grades students, even unconsciously, improve their results in different subjects. However, despite these advantages grade system is not perfect. First of all, students are more oriented on grades than on the subject itself. Many students study only to get good grades.  They attend all lectures, are active at seminars and at last get an A but they will never open their lecture or read a book in this sphere when the course is over. It is studying for studying, not for knowledge.
Robert Borkat, a prominent professor of English and comparative literature at San Diego State University, in her article A Liberating Curriculum proposes her own system of grading which he tries to apply nowadays. The plan is the following: every students gets A as a final grade at the end of the second week of the semester. “Then their minds will be relieved of anxiety, and they will be free to do whatever they want for the rest of the term” (Borkat).

Images of Sight and Blindness in the play Oedipus RexOedipus Rex is a play written by Sophocles almost 2500 years ago but it’s still relevant today. Sophocles was a talented dramatist because all his plays present real individuals with strong characters and usually tragic fates. The images of sight and blindness are of great importance because they allow the readers to reveal such imporant themes of  the work as fate  and the person’s predetermination in life. Each phrase of his narration is significant because it makes the contribution to the whole play.
The main character of the play is Oedipus, the King of Thebes. He is admired by people and people believe in him as in God although he isn’t and they pray him to save the city from the plague:
You are not one of the immortal gods, we know;
Yet we have come to you to make our prayer
As to the man surest in mortal ways
And wisest in the ways of God (Sophocles).
Oedipus is intentional to solve this problem and to find the roots of the problem. In the end he gets to know that he has killed his father and is married to his own mother and the plague is a severe penalty for this. This is the main plot of the play and we can see that Oedipus’ fate is really very dramatic.
The main universal question is “Who am I?” and we try to answer it throughout all our life and often aren’t able to do it. The search for the answer stimulates our development, our self-awareness. At first Oedipus tries not to think about this question, about his fate, he is “blind”. Oedipus doesn’t believe the oracle that he will kill his father and marry his own mother. He leaves his native town and doesn’t communicate with his relatives. He becomes the king, people love him and everything is good but all in all there is no escaping from the fate – everything happens as the oracle has predicted.
