Free EssayLanguage-based approach is an effective method, which deals with children’s phonological and morphological impairments. Its main aim is to improve their language and speech skills. During twelve weeks of work with children many of them show good results and improvement of their language performance is obvious.
It is proved by conducted research and its results, which are given in the tables 3, 4 and 5. Having analyzed these data, we can sum up that language-based approach is effective in the majority of cases. The main indicators of the results of the method are PCC (percent consonants correct), PWM (percent word match), CI (consistency index), stopping of fricatives and affricates on the phonological level and MLU (mean length of utterance), FMC (finite morpheme composite), contractible copula, use of third person singular, past tense regular and irregular forms on the language level. Table 4 gives us the results of work with a boy Connor who exhibited considerable progress in PCC from 49 % before the intervention to 69 % after it. Also, PWM increased from 56 % to 78%. Together with other indexes, which also show the benefit of the approach, the most remarkable are the indexes of the use of the third person singular and past tense ending –ed, from 0 % to 33 %.

The table 5 shows the results of work with a group of ten children. Summarizing the data in this table, we see that language-based approach is not equally effective for all children. Judging by the Consistency Index and the PCC changes, children with the highest Consistency Index showed the best improvement of PCC. These are children 4, 8, 15, 17, while other children with better initial results did not show such progress.
Thus, we can make a conclusion that though language-based approach helps children with phonological and morphological impairments, it does not suit all children. While it is hard to determine for which children the method will be effective, there is a hypothesis that language-based approach is mostly helpful to children with great inconsistence of phonological systems and with both speech and language impairments.
