“The Road” is one of the prominent works written by Cormac McCarthy. The novel conveys a vision of the author of the post-apocalyptic world, where human nature is revealed in its extreme. In such a situation, the author explores the essence of human nature and juxtaposes primary instincts of humans to superior human values, even in the savage world, where there seems to be no place for humanism. At the same time, the author apparently believes in the supremacy of humanism and human values over primary instincts even when humans struggle for survival. Probably, the author attempts to convince the audience that it is in humanism the mankind can find salvation from all of its problems and challenges. In this respect, the post-apocalyptic world reminds the modern world where people are concerned with their own well-being only. In the epoch of consumerism, there is little room for humanistic ideals, help to people in need. Instead, consumerism and the struggle for a higher social status and wealth prevail in the modern society, which resembles the struggle of people depicted by McCarthy for survival in the post-apocalyptic world.
The lost generation and its problems are still relevant since the modern society is in a way similar to the society of the lost generation. These similarities as well as differences can be traced in works of major writers who belong to the lost generation and who wrote about the lost generation. In fact, it is obvious that the lost generation faced similar ethical dilemmas as the present generation, it faced the problem of the social inequality, but, fortunately, the modern generation has never experienced what the lost generation had – the world war.
Human behavior is difficult to control and it is difficult to explain. In this respect, the problem of human obedience is particularly difficult because some people are vulnerable to disobedience, while others readily obey, even though they have ample opportunities to act independently. Moreover, many offenses are not always committed by some outcasts, but, instead, ordinary people, under the impact of circumstance, can grow into aggressive offenders able to commit the most terrible acts. People cannot resist to the orders they receive but their psychology may change dramatically and they may act in an unusual and untypical way. The relationship of obedience and control could lead people to the commitment of offenses or crimes, which they would have never committed in normal circumstances, if they remained really independent from the authority or, if they could manage to disobey. In fact, obedience can hardly outgrow into socially dangerous disobedience, but it still can have negative effects, such as the risk of offenses and victimization.
The development of information technologies and computing leads to the rapid technological progress. At the same time, today there are not many operation systems which are used in the overwhelming majority of computers. In fact, Widows is apparently the world’s leading operation system that is used in the majority of computers, while there are only few competitors, such as MacOS and Linux that attempt to challenge the position of Windows. On the other hand, modern operation systems tend to become user friendly and the major goal of the development of new operation systems is the simplification of the use of these systems and multi-functionality of new operation systems. In this respect, the main concerns of developers of operation systems are the ability of operation systems to store and protect data stored on computers and facilitate the transmission of information between users including the use of Internet and networking.

Egypt is one of the largest countries of North Africa which is actually a bridge between Africa and Asia because it is through the territory of Egypt two continents are united. Such physical position of Egypt predetermined, to a significant extent, its economic and political development. Since ancient epoch, Egypt has played the leading role in the region, though there were periods when the glory of Egypt declined, but its historical heritage can hardly be underestimated. In addition, today, Egypt has preserved its leading role in the region, the borderline between Asia and Africa. The country influences political as well as socioeconomic development of the region and its economic potential is huge, though, the country still stumbles through numerous economic problems which prevent Egypt from accelerated economic growth and prosperity. Nevertheless, it is possible to say that Egypt is the country with a great history and huge potential that allows Egyptians to expect for the renewal of Egypt’s would-be prosperity.
