The library has created this guide to provide our students with examples for citing different types of sources. Students are encouraged to consult the official version of this citation style as published by the CBE. Examples are based on those provided in the Scientific style and format: the CSE manual for authors, editors, and publishers 7thedition, available at the library (REF T 11 S386 2006). To help explain examples, quotes from the 6th edition are included, followed by the page numbers where the quotes appear. Examples represent the Name-Year System. See Chap. 30, Scientific style, for an explanation of the Citation-Sequence System. The event data is nothing new, it is the actual business data or payload captured for the CICS event. This is referred to as the dynamic part of the CBE event since the event data can change for each event captured, and the event data will vary for different event capture specifications. The schema for the event data can be exported from the Adapter tab in the CICS event binding editor. The CICS CBE static portion does not change; it remains the same for all events emitted by CICS. The static portion is unique to CICS and the schema is supplied and installed with CICS in location /usr/lpp/cicsts/cicsts41/schemas/eventprocessing/eventformats/cics_cbe_static.xsd on your zFS. Similar processing is required for the other format types, but I thought it was worth mentioning the CBE format in particular since it might not be obvious how to interpret the CBE format and where to find the schemas, especially CBE 1.0.1. Today’s wide format systems capture images more accurately and with less noise. Examples of references in CBE style are not indented. In scientific journals, however, references are usually indented after the first line of each entry. The following examples use this indented format. CBE does not suggest a preference for double-spacing references. Many instructors prefer double-spaced text and references. Always check with your instructor for details about formatting references.
