The Aztec Empire was the leading power in Mesoamerica. Before the Spanish conquest, the Aztec Empire played the dominant role in Central American and it was the most advanced civilization in the region which could compete only with Incas in South America. By the time of Cortez’s conquest, the Aztec Empire was the main, if not to say the only well-developed civilization which had substantial financial and material resources, which could help the empire to protect its territory from the foreign invasion. By this time, the would-be powerful Maya city-states had declined and could not resist to the foreign invasion. In such a situation, the Aztec Empire was the main native power which could resists to conquistadors.
However, the Aztec Empire failed to oppose to the Spanish invasion. Paradoxically, Aztecs did not view Spaniards as their enemies or as potential rivals in the struggle for the superiority in the region. Paradoxically, they believed Spaniards being white deities sent to Aztecs by their gods to bring happiness and prosperity to their land. In such a context, their almost divine worshiping of Spaniards and great respect they demonstrated to strangers made the empire vulnerable to fast and relatively easy invasion.
American colonies is a new Promised Land. Thousands of people from all over Europe have already emigrated to the New World, where they expect to find a new, better life. So do I since I am also willing to move to America, namely North Carolina, where I hope to find a place to start a new life. My life in England is unbearable because I live in poverty and I am practically deprived of any chance to earn for living here. Instead, American colonies are huge territories which are not inhabited yet, at least by Europeans. The process of colonization is ongoing and I know that I can get land for farming in there without any problems. As far as I know, Indians have been moved to the West. Thus, I will have ample opportunities to start farming in North Carolina that is practically impossible now in England, where free land is scarce.
Traditionally, language plays a very important role in the life of people and in interpersonal relations. At the same time, language is not a mere means of communication. Instead, it is a complex system, which influences substantially culture, an individual’s identity, how people perceive the surrounding world and themselves. In such a situation, the role of language in professional life of people is particularly significant. In this respect, it is worth mentioning the fact that many occupations imply the use of a very specific language, which is absolutely incomprehensible for non-professionals. In this regard, it is possible to refer to accounting as one of the fields where the role of language is particularly significant. On the other hand, it is necessary to remember that accounting is often defined as the language of business (Ireland and Syme, 31). In such a way, accounting proves to be closely intertwined with the language and, what is more, it even performs functions of the language in business.
There are three major theories about human behavior and physical environment: stimulation theory, control theory, and behavior setting theory. Traditional sensory stimulation theory is based upon the statement that learning becomes successful when all senses are stimulated. This theory confirms that when multi-senses are stimulated, greater learning takes place. According to Elizabeth D. Hutchison stimulating theories alarm us to consider the quality and intensions of sensory stimulation theory in the environment where a human lives and works.
The Allepian Waslah constitutes an essential part of the cultural life of Arab, Jewish, and Christian communities. In this respect, the Allepian Waslah is a unique phenomenon in the culture because it manages to unite different cultural and religious communities. At the same time, the Allepian Waslah is an important element which contributes to the preservation of cultural identity of Arab and Jewish communities in different parts of the world. Remarkably, the Allepian Waslah’s components have been used in the Syrian and Jewish synagogues, Arab Christian churches, Arab Muslims, Jewish and Christian weddings. In such a way, the Allepian Waslah became deep routed in the culture of different communities. At the same time, this component of Muslim, Jewish and Christian culture proved to be able to migrate along with the population from the place of its origin to areas populated with Arab and Jewish communities, where the Allepian Waslah allowed them to distinguish them from local, dominating cultural groups. In this respect, it is possible to refer to the Lebanese and Syrian communities in New York, which manage to maintain their cultural identity and the Allepian Waslah serves as a toll of the preservation of their cultural identity and, what is more, it helps Syrian and Lebanese American to maintain contacts with their motherland and its culture. In such a way, the importance of Allepian Waslah for Arab and Jewish as well as Christina cultures can hardly be underestimated, but it is particularly significant for ethnic minorities, such as Lebanese and Syrian communities, in large cities, such as New York, where different cultures coexist and interact.
